The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily control of the workshop in order to maintain a high level of productivity and quality repair. You will also be responsible for a large team of Technicians, motivating, supporting and leading them to drive the business forward. In return you will be rewarded with a competitive basic salary and bonus scheme.

The role:


To manage the process of optimising workshop resources to meet agreed departmental budgets

To ensure customer requirements are fully understood and communicated in an effective manner to other members of the department

Monitor individual and workshop efficiencies to ensure key performance indicators are met

To calculate and manage the effective use of the workshop

Plan the distribution of work amongst the team utilising available skills mix

Identify individual training and development needs

Manage liaison between workshop and service reception on customer vehicle progress

Manage workshop standards in accordance with HSO requirements

Resolve customer issues in line with agreed standards and customer expectations

Manage any necessary liaison with department manager regarding customer dissatisfaction

Ensure understanding and adherence to the requirements of brand service requirements and customer satisfaction indicators

Maintain safe working practices and abide by the working rules and standards

Maintain and develop own skills and technical knowledge

General Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with entrepreneurial drive to join a company that is poised for significant growth.

Our client, located in Vancouver, BC is exclusively focused on providing financial and revenue management software to the public sector.  This company assists public sector organizations deploy cost effective, integrated, computing solutions that increase employee productivity so that you can better serve the demands of customers and leverage technology to automate all aspects of their organization.

As the General Manager, the responsibilities are extensive and varied. You will be primarily accountable for the overall management of the business operations including driving and implementing the annual business plan, full P&L (Financial Performance) responsibility and leading a team of experienced operational managers with a wide-range of public sector and software/ERP experience.  To be successful in this role you should have a good understanding of the public sector business environment and have hands on experience selling and implementing technology solutions into this vertical.

You have a proven ability to work independently and be a proactive thinker with a detail-oriented and creative problem solving approach. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.

Experience / Skills:
- A minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership position
- Strong understanding and sales management into the public sector software marketplace.
- Previous P&L performance accountability

Knowledge Base:
- Must have firm understanding of general management, complex sales and application software solutions.
- The complexity and comprehensive nature of the solutions makes structured and thorough project management a required skill set.

Education:
- Degree, Diploma or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Accounting, Marketing or related fields.

Personal Characteristics:
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
- Team player, excellent leadership ability
- Sound judgment
- High energy level
- Resourceful and well organized
- Able to resolve conflicts and build commitment to the resolution
- Results oriented
- Day to day leadership of the management team

Incumbent will be involved with large capital projects.   Must be a strategic business partner in the mill and have excellent team building skills.

RELIABILITY ELECTRICAL / INSTRUMENTATION CONTROLS – Pulp & Paper Experience

This individual will have experience in Honeywell DCS, TDC-3000 and Experion.   Excellent opportunity to be involved in a growing company.  Need 1 candidate for Converting and 1 candidate for Paper Machine side of the business.  

Requirements:  Degree – EE Preferred.  Five plus years of experience.

 

 

PROCESS  PROJECT ENGINEER – Converting

Salary:  $90,000 to $110,000 (plus bonus)

Incumbent  will have process engineering experience with Converting or large high speed equipment.   Excellent opportunity for growth in a facility that is expanding.

 

Requirements: Engineer Degree – 3 plus years of experience prefer Tissue, but not required.

 
 

PROJECT ENGINEER – Paper Machine 

Salary:   $70,000 to $90,000 (plus bonus)

The incumbent will be responsible for all projects in a small Tissue Mill.   Reporting into the Mill Manager and Corporate Engineering.  

 

Requirements: Degree –ME Preferred, Two plus years of project engineering experience in Paper.

 

 


MAINTENANCE / ELECTRICAL JOBS:


 

 

 MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

 Maintenance Superintendent (Veneer/plywood/ engineered wood)

Salary: $80,000 to $110,000 (excellent bonus)

 

Incumbent will have a strong maintenance background from the wood industry. 

 

Requirements:  Degree preferred, but not required.  Must have full understanding of a mill from the wood yard through dry end.
